Eruptions – A Choreographic Journey Through the City
Eruptions is a site-responsive choreographic parcours that guides audiences through public and semi-public urban spaces. Through short, precise interventions, performers temporarily disrupt everyday routines and open up alternative ways of encountering the city, the body, and one another.
Set against the uniform rhythms of urban life, Eruptions creates moments of surprise, playfulness, and physical freedom. Since its creation in 2009, the work has been presented in a wide range of contexts across the Netherlands, including international and local festivals, community events, guerrilla performances, and art education settings.
Eruptions is adaptable to different urban environments and invites both intentional audiences and accidental passers-by to experience the city through a choreographic lens.
