The Erotic as Expression
The erotic belongs to the essence of being human. It is a natural, expressive force connected to identity, desire, and self-expression. The drawings are a form of expression that makes visible—and seeks to break through—the boundaries, norms, and shame surrounding sexuality. A gentle resistance to the one-dimensional image of the erotic that is often prescribed by media and commerce.
The drawings are small, almost like dreams, made with ink and soft pencil. They explore freedom of movement, a recurring thread in my work, and invite the viewer to look, to feel, and to let the imagination move.
